การ์ดสองใบนี้มาถึงพร้อมกัน บังเอิญว่ามาจากประเทศในสแกนดิเนเวียทั้งคู่และเราเห็นแล้วกรี๊ดทั้งสองใบด้วย 
ใบแรกมาจากฟินแลนด์ มูมินใบแรกที่ได้ รูปไม่ได้สีสันมากมาย แต่ชอบที่มันดูง่ายๆ เรียบๆ ดี ดูแล้วก็ยิ่งอยากอ่านตัวหนังสือ อยากรู้ว่าเรื่องมันเป็นยังไง
ส่วนใบที่สองจากนอร์เวย์ เป็นรูปช่วงฤดูร้อนของทิวทัศน์แถบตอนเหนือของนอร์เวย์ ข้างหลังเขียนไว้ว่า Efjord Nordland สวยมาก เห็นบ้านจิ๋วสีแดงอยู่ลิบๆ น้ำใสจนดูเหมือนจะลงไปลุยได้ แต่คงจะเย็นน่าดู ดูแล้วอยากไปเห็นของจริงจัง

It’s just getting better and better in postcrossing! These two postcards arrived together just yesterday. Both came from Scandinavia and both are my favorite!
The first is from Finland. My first Moomin postcard The picture is not so colorful and you may not recognize it right away but I like the simplicity and muteness of it. Make me want to read the books to know the story!
The second one from Norway. Gorgeous scene of Efjord in Nordland. Have no idea where that is but the sender said that it’s in the northern area of the country. This shot was took in summertime but I bet the water would be freezing even the time. Look at the little red cottage, how cute is that! Wish I could see the real scene!

i don’t get a lot of postcards from norway. that “arctic paradise” really looks spectacular! the waters must be frigid!

it’s quite a coincidence that you featured this arctic postcard because i am currently reading a finely illustrated book called “secrets of the gnomes” and it tells of the authors being whisked away in gnome world in finland’s lapland and then to siberia. i can imagine this scene being described in their travels. here is what the book looks like:

I had no idea what gnomes were so I read definition in Wikipedia. Interesting! Too bad there’s not inside page to see in Amazon. I want to see the illustrations!
So the book is some kind of Fairy tale fiction?

it’s actually a sequel to their first book called “gnomes” (http://www.amazon.com/Gnomes-Wil-Huygen/dp/0810909650) which was a NY bestseller. gnomes are little people linked to faeries, yes. in the philippines, we call them by a different name, “dwende.” they’re also known as dwarves, as in snow white and the seven dwarves.
the story tells of the authors being turned into gnomes and their task is to record the secrets of the gnomes and send an urgent message to mankind. it’s a huge book with colorful pages. i loved it and thought the story was believable. i borrowed it from our local library. will borrow the first book next.

I looked at the link. Nice pictures. the story sounds intriguing!
Talk about little people, today I just bought the whole set of The Borrowers, have you read it? I read the first book when I was a kid and actually have the set in Thai but I bought English version because of the illustrations. May blog about this books’ illustrations later.

i’ve never heard about “the borrowers.” googled it and it looks interesting! the fact that “little people” exist in almost every nation’s folklore is amazing!
