หลังๆ รู้สึกว่าถ่ายรูปออกมาแล้วมันมืด พี่สาวบอกให้ลองปรับ exposure ดู จริงๆ ก็ได้ยินมานานแล้ว แต่ไม่ค่อยเก็ท อืมมม…ยังต้องฝึกอีกเยอะ

วันนี้หาไฟล์งานในโฟลเดอร์เก่า แล้วไปเจองานที่วาดไว้เมื่อสองปีที่แล้ว เป็นงานประกอบปกที่วาดไว้เยอะมาก แต่สุดท้ายรูปทั้งหลายนี่ก็ไม่ผ่าน^-^’ เนื่องจากมันเด็กไป ซึ่งก็ต้องขอบคุณคุณ บ.ก. ที่พยายามผลักดันให้เราทำอะไรที่มากกว่านี้ ตอนนี้หนังสือชุดที่พิมพ์จริงดูหรูเริ่ดกว่านี้มากมาย

กลับมานั่งดูอีกทีก็นึกถึงตอนทำ เหนื่อยแต่สนุก เป็นงานแรกๆ ที่เริ่มเปลี่ยนสไตล์จากกราฟฟิกจ๋า มาเน้นภาพวาดมากขึ้น การใช้สียังดูเด็กๆ อยู่เลย (ก็เป็นภาพเด็กนี่เนอะ) แต่ว่า…ตอนนั้นนึกยังไงถึงเห็นว่าวาดตาเหมือนตางูแบบนี้แล้วน่ารักหว่า-_- ‘

ดูไปดูมาแล้ว ก็อยากได้งานหนังสือเด็กกับเขาบ้างจัง…

อ้อ รูปสุดท้ายพื้นสีฟ้าเป็น wallpaper จ้ะ ทำไว้ใช้เอง ใครไม่รังเกียจน้องตางู ก็เชิญคลิ๊กเซฟไปไว้หน้าจอได้จ้า

I found these illustrations in old folders. They were done for a set of book covers which got rejected later as they looked too childish. I had fun doing these although I’m not sure now while I did the snake-like eyes for the kids. I must have thought they were cute somehow -_-’

นั่นแหละ…ง่วงน้อยหน่อยละ ^-^

เป็นคนขี้เบื่อและเซ็งโลกง่าย เลยพยายามหาอะไรทำไม่ให้ตัวเองเกิดอาการติ๊ดขึ้นบ่อยเกินไป จริงๆ ก็มีอะไรให้ทำมากมาย จนทำไม่ทัน บางอย่างก็ไม่ได้ทำสักที เลยต้องหาเรื่องสร้างกรอบให้ตัวเองบ้าง

สมุดข้างบนนี่ก็เป็นหนึ่งในกรอบที่เราหามาบังคับตัวเอง เป็นกิจกรรมอินเตอร์ที่เรียกว่า The Sketchbook Project สรุปสั้นๆ ก็คือเป็นกิจกรรมที่เปิดให้เหล่านักวาดอาชีพหรือมือสมัครเล่นมาโชว์งานกัน โดยเราจะต้องเลือกธีมที่เขากำหนดให้มาหนึ่งธีม(ของเราเป็น A Day in the Life เลือกเพราะเป็นอะไรที่น่าจะง่ายที่สุดละ นอกนั้นบางอันก็แปลไม่ออกง่ะ -_-’) แล้วรอสมุด moleskin จากทางโครงการ พอได้ปุ๊บ ก็ให้วาด ระบาย ตัดแปะ สร้าง อะไรก็แล้วแต่ที่แสดงถึงจินตนาการความสร้างสรรค์ที่สามารถพับเก็บกลับไปยังขนาดเดิมได้ ทำไมน่ะหรือ เพราะว่าพอทำหมดเล่มแล้ว เราจะต้องส่งคืนไป แล้วเขาจะเอาสมุดเราออกทัวร์ไปให้ชาวโลกดู (จริงๆ คือเฉพาะบางเมืองในอเมริกา)

ดูแล้วน่าสนุกดี เลยลองมั่ง ไม่รู้จะได้เรื่องหรือเปล่า อาจจะเป็นสมุดเก็ตช์ที่ห่วยแตกที่สุดในโลก หรือเริ่ดที่สุดในปฐพี แต่ที่แน่ๆ เราเริ่มไม่ค่อยเบื่อชวิตเท่าไหร่ละ ^-^

I was pretty bored that day. Everything was so gloomy and annoying. Then I found this sketchbook in my mailbox and I knew I would have less time to be bored.

This sketchbook doesn’t come for free. You have to participate in this project It comes like this, you order a book then choose a theme (mine is A Day in the Life) and wait…wait…wait until the book arrives to your mailbox. That’s the starting point of your creative journey, or so I hope. Draw, write, paint or construct anything as you like as long as it can be folded up nicely in the original size. Then pack and mail your journey to the project guys and they will take your book on tour. Pretty nice, isn’t it?

My main goal for this project is to push me to draw more, to think more and hopefully to give myself a boost in creativity. It has a chance of ending up the most lousy sketchbook as much as the greatest one. Whatever it may turn out, I’m enjoying it already

ช่วงนีรู้สึกเหมือนย้อนเวลากลับไปตอนเริ่มทำฟรีแลนซ์ใหม่ๆ
ตอนที่ยังไม่มีใครรู้จัก รับงานก๊อกๆ แก๊กๆ สร้างงานเปะปะ กว่าจะมีงานเข้าแบบสม่ำเสมอ ก็ใช้เวลาไปสองสามปี ถึงตอนนี้ก็ยังไม่ได้ฮอตฮิตงานล้นมือ แต่ก็พอมีคนรู้จักบ้าง พอให้ไม่กังวลมาก

ตอนนี้เรากำลังพยายามทำงานขายของ online ซึ่งเป็นตลาดฝรั่ง ก็คิดอยู่แล้วแหละว่ายาก เพราะเราก็แค่ blogger คนหนึ่งที่ชอบวาดรูปน่ารักๆ แปะบล๊อกเล่น ไม่ใช่ศิลปินโด่งดัง และที่ว่าเหมือนย้อนเวลากลับไปก็ตรงที่ว่า เราแทบจะไม่รู้จักใครเลยในวงการ ทำการตลาดยังไงก็แทบจะไม่รู้

วิถีแห่งความอึดอดทน สร้างงานให้คนรู้จักเลยกลับมาอีก

ถึงตอนนี้ยังไม่เห็นผลเป็นเม็ดเงิน แต่ผลที่เห็นชัดคือเราพอใจกับงานตัวเองมากขึ้น จากที่เคยอยากเป็น illustrator แต่ไม่รู้ว่าจะวาดรูปแนวไหน ตอนนี้เหมือนหาสไตล์ตัวเองเจอ เดี๋ยวเงินมันก็คงมาเองแหละ…มั๊งนะ

Lately, I have been feeling like taking a time machine back when I just started freelancing. At the time, I didn’t know anyone in design or publishing field. My only way was creating resume and portfolio and sent out to every publishers I found on Yellowpages.

I did little of this and little of that until one day one of my promo postcards worked and I got constant freelance projects since then. But before that it took me nearly 3 years.

And now with my shop online, MerryDay I go back to nobody status again and what I have to do is make my works known and learn more marketing tips.

Not that I feel bad or discouraged, in fact, I really enjoy having this shop very much because it makes me find my own illustration style and I call it half success already

ชอบเสียง lula ตังแต่อัลบั้มแรก Urban Lullaby อัลขั้มนี้ชอบ packaging มากมาย แต่รู้สึกเพลงอัลบั้มนี้ไม่ถูกใจเท่าอัลบั้มแรกแฮะ แต่ก้ฟังได้เรื่อยๆนะ
