I have got more children’s illustration postcards! Two cards at the same time. ^-^ The first one is from Germany with work of Helme Heine an internationally well-known children’s book author and illustrator. The style reminds me of a notebook I bought when I was a kid. It’s very old but still in good condition. It has Thai translation too!

The second card came from The Netherlands. This one features work of Fiep Westendorp, a very famous Dutch Illustrator. Love her style. It’s a pity that her official web site doesn’t have English version yet but you can still enjoy browsing her beautiful art. Here are links I found. Enjoy!

วันก่อนเพื่อนแม่มาที่บ้านหอบเอาเสาวรสกับผลไม้อื่นๆ อีกถุงใหญ่ หนึ่งในนั้นคือผลไม้หน้าตาอย่างที่เห็น คุณป้าบอกว่าเป็นผลไม้ที่ไว้ใช้ประดับทำขนมเค้กหรืออะไรประมาณนี้ เราก็ฟังไม่ค่อยถนัด สรุปว่าคุณป้าก็ไม่รู้เหมือนกันว่ามันคืออะไรแน่ ทีนี้ก็กลายเป็นปริศนา ใครมาบ้าน ก็ต้องถามว่ามันคืออะไร แม้กระทั่งตอนนี้เราก็ยังไม่รู้อยู่ดี รู้แต่ว่ามันหน้าตาสวยดี ลองชิมดูแล้ว ไม่ตาย และรสชาติเปรี้ยวๆ หวานๆ อร่อยดีเหมือนกัน
ว่าแต่มันชื่ออะไรละเนี่ยย….

One of my mom’s friends visited us the other day with bags full of different kinds of fruit in her hands. One of them is the small flower-like fruit in the picture. She said that it was used for decorating cake or something, I’m not quite sure. In fact, she herself was not quite sure either. It becomes a mysterious fruit that everyone who happens to see it would ask its name. We still don’t know it yet.
However, I like its colors and shape and the taste is quite good, sweet with sour touch.
The mystery still remains till today..
วันนี้เป็นวันดีวันหนึ่งเริ่มจากตื่นเช้ามาพาแม่ไปเที่ยว จริงๆ ก็ไม่ได้ไปไหนไกล แค่ไปสหกรณ์กับห้างแถวบ้าน แต่ความที่หลังๆ เราชักงานเยอะ จากที่เคยพาแม่ไปนู่นมานี่บ่อยๆ ก็เหลือเพียงแค่วันพาไปสระผมอาทิตย์ละวัน เมื่อก่อนแม่ขับรถไปไหนมาไหนเองได้ แต่หลังจากผ่าตัด เราก็ไม่อยากให้แม่ไปไหนมาไหนคนเดียว ตั้งแต่นั้นก็เลยต้องรอคนขับ(เราเอง)ว่าง ช่วงไหนงานเยอะหรือเราขี้เกียจ แม่ก็จะเซ็ง พอวันนี้บอกแม่ไปซิ่งกันเถอะ แม่ดีใจใหญ่ เราก็ดีใจด้วย เพราะได้อู้ เย้! =^-^=
ช้อปปิ้งกระหน่ำกลับมา ก็เห็นซองอะไรสวยๆ อยู่ในตู้จดหมาย ในใจคิดว่าจะมีอะไรส่งถึงเราหรือเปล่าน้าาา แล้วก็ใช่จริงๆ ด้วย
ซองลายสวยพับห่อโปสการ์ดอย่างเก๋ไก๋นี่มาจากหนึ่งในแฟนหนังสือของพี่สาวที่อุตส่าห์ส่งโปสการ์ดปีใหม่มาให้ ความจริงส่งมาให้พี่สาวคนเดียวก็ได้ แต่เธอก็ใจดีส่งแยกมาให้เราด้วย (ขอบคุณมากๆ คับ!)
ซองใสลายสวยนี่จริงๆ น่าจะเป็นถุงพลาสติค แต่พับห่อได้อย่างงามจนเราไม่กล้าแกะ เลยใช้วิธีตัดเอาของข้างในออกมาแทน….
ของที่ได้คือ ที่คั่นหนังสือลายปัก! น่ารักมากมาย ชอบมาก เพราะนอกจากสะสมโปสการ์ด เราก็สะสมที่คั่นหนังสือด้วย แล้วก็ไม่เคยมีที่คั่นแบบนี้มาก่อน ชอบๆ \^-^/
เป็นวันที่มีความสุขอีกวันหนึ่ง…

What a beautiful day today! The weather was quite nice while my mom and I went out for shopping this morning. Mom was quite happy because she hadn’t been out for real shopping for quite some time because I, who is her driver don’t have time. I think it’s a bit frustrating for her, not to be able to drive and go wherever she wants as she used to do before she got an operation. She is quite healthy now but we think that it would be better and safer to have someone drives for her. I’m happy to see her excited with our little date 
That’s one thing for my happiness, another is this surprise mail I got (see pictures above). It’s from one of my sister’s book readers. She is kind enough to send us postcards. There’s also a little gift in this beautiful, well-thought wrapping, an embroidered bookmark! I’m so excited. Apart from collecting postcards, bookmarks are ones I’m always looking for too and I have never had such bookmark! It’s so cute and precious.
Now you see why I’m so happy today! ^-^

มานั่งนึกดู ปีที่ผ่านมานับเป็นปีที่ดีปีหนึ่ง ไม่เจ็บไข้ได้ป่วย ไม่มีเรื่องกังวลใจ มีงานมาเรื่อยๆ อ่านหนังสือได้เยอะกว่าปี 51 สิบกว่าเล่ม แต่ซื้อมาดองไว้เยอะกว่าปี 51 สิบเท่า อันนี้เว่อร์ไป แต่ก็ซื้อมาเยอะจริงๆ ยิ่งช่วงเดือนกันยา-ตุลานี่ซื้อทุกอาทิตย์ อาทิตย์ละหลายเล่ม กำลังคิดว่าปีนี้จะถือศีลอดไม่ซื้อหนังสือสักสามเดือน จะทำได้ป่าวหว่า…
ได้ไม่ได้ค่อยมาดูกัน ตอนนี้มาดูหนังสือภาพสุดสวยของเรา(แต่ผีมือคนอื่น)กันดีกว่า The Curious Garden เล่มนี้ วาดและเขียนโดย Peter Brown
เรื่องมีอยู่ว่า กาลครั้งหนึ่ง(ก็ตอนที่คนเขียนเขาเริ่มเขียนนั่นแหละ) มีเด็กชายตัวน้อยชื่อเลียมอาศัยอยู่ในเมืองใหญ่สีทึม ไร้ชีวิตชีวาของสีเขียวของต้นไม้ อยู่มาวันหนึ่งเลียมพบดอกไม้และต้นไม้เล็กๆ ขึ้นแซมอยู่บนทางรถไฟที่ถูกทิ้งร้าง เด็กชายเลียมรู้ได้ทันทีว่า ดอกไม้ต้นไม้เล็กๆ นี้ต้องการคนดูแล
เด็กน้อยใช้เวลาค่อยๆ รดน้ำพรวนดิน ทำนุบำรุงเหล่าต้นไม้ใกล้ตายให้ฟื้นกลับมาชูช่อเขียวสวยอีกครั้ง หยดน้ำหนึ่งหยดเพิ่มความชุ่มฉ่ำให้ผืนดินมหาศาล จากวันเป็นเดือน พุ่มไม้เล็กๆ เริ่มเติบโตกลายเป็นสวนเขียวชอุ่มเต็มพื้นที่ทางรถไฟ
เหล่าต้นไม้งอกเงยราวกับจะสำรวจพื้นที่บ้านเมืองที่ไม่เคยมีสีเขียว จากพื้นที่ทางรถไฟ มันขยายตัวไปโผล่หน้าบ้านผู้คน ตามทางถนน ตามป้าย ตามเสา พอถึงตอนนี้ก็ไม่ได้มีเลียมเพียงคนเดียวแล้วที่คอยดูต้นไม้เหล่านั้น ผู้คนในเมืองเริ่มออกมารดน้ำ พรวนดิน ดูสวนนอกบ้าน ไม่นานเมืองที่เคยแห้งแล้ง ก็กลับมามีชีวิตชีวาอีกครั้ง…จบ
เรื่องมันง่ายๆ แค่นี้เอง แต่ในความเป็นจริง เราก็ยังตัดไม้ ตัดถนนเอาพื้นที่มาสร้างบ้านสร้างตึกสีเทากันอยู่ดี…

New Year day has passed but I don’t feel like working at all today. How nice to be idle thinking of nothing!
Come to think of it, last year was one of my best years. With good health, no worries of money and job and could finish more books! But it seems that I bought too many books in 2009. I wonder if I can buy nothing for at least 3 months? Seems impossible
Anyway, let’s take a look at this gorgeous picture book here The Curious Garden written and illustrated by Peter Brown
The story is that once upon a time there was a little boy named Liam who lived in a lifeless city without green sight of trees at all. One day he found a small patch of color, wildflowers and plants in a deserted railway. He knew they needed a gardener. From that day, Liam spent his time watering and pruning even singing, taking care of plants and trees. The trees grew and grew. They didn’t just grow in the railway. Now they grew everywhere, in front of houses, on the road, on the signs. The most surprising thing is that there’s not only Liam who took care of the garden anymore. Now everyone in the city came out and helped taking care of their becoming-green city! The entire city had blossomed again!…The end.
The story seems very simple but you know that in reality, there are so many area in this world that green trees were cut away so that there will be enough space for grey lifeless buildings for people to stay in…

I should have posted these last week but had so much work that I didn’t have time to do this project. When I finally managed it, it turned out that my inkjet printer went wrong. It took me some time trying to fix it. I finally gave it up and had my illustrations printed in a service shop instead.
These card will be sold at art square today. Hope it goes well.
ใบต้นโป๊ยเซียนหน้าบ้าน ว่าจะจับเล่นเฉยๆ เห็นสีสวยดี กลับหลุดติดมือมาซะงั้น ปล่อยทิ้งไว้สองวัน ก็เหลืองกรอบได้ที่ สมควรเอามาถ่ายรูปเก็บไว้ก่อนที่มันจะแห้งกรอบสลายไปเสียก่อน
เราว่าใบไม้แต่ละใบมันคงเหมือนลายนิ้วมือคนเรานะ มีแพทเทิร์นไม่เหมือนกันสักนิ้ว(และใบ) ว่าแล้วก็โคลสอัพมาให้เห็นกันจะๆ (จริงๆ มันก็ใบเดียวกันนั่นแหละ แต่ละคนละด้าน )
กำลังคิดว่าจะทำโปสการ์ดรูปถ่ายไปขายด้วยดีไหม คิดไปคิดมาก็อย่าดีกว่า ตอนนี้พริ๊นท์เตอร์ไม่ค่อยภักดี พริ๊นท์รูปถ่ายออกมาสีเพี้ยนเชียว 
ว่าแต่ยังทำโปสการ์ดไปไม่ถึงไหนเลย จะทันวันขายไหมเนี่ยย…
เดี๋ยวพรุ่งนี้จะแปะรูปโปสการ์ดที่กำลังทำอยู่ละกัน

Dry leaf from Crown of thorns plant I didn’t mean to pluck it out. It just fell to my hand while I was admiring its beautiful pink and green colors.
I think each leaf is like hand prints. Never have the same pattern on each finger and each leaf. Look at the wonderful close-up
I’m thinking about doing photo postcards for sale in art square but have to change my mind. I’ll just focus on my illustrations.
